Founded in 1983, Mission Safety International has brought together professional pilots, educators, business-men and other volunteers to join hands with the MSI staff in providing a series of services specifically targeted to assist the missions community in safety and security matters.  Their goal is to see improvement in mission operational safety through improved techniques and operational standards.  Some of the services offered include:

Safety Consultations  - On-location observations and interviews by an MSI team of qualified personnel.  Depending on the size of the mission, teams may spend up to three weeks on one survey.  Reports, with recommendations, are made to the mission at the conclusion of the survey.

Security Audits - A review of the organization regarding its provisions against lawless acts of violence.  A report of organizational awareness of the problem along with recommendations to reduce exposure is made to mission leadership.

Safety Seminars - An educational opportunity for mission and training organization personnel to interact with outstanding leaders regarding safety and security.  Seminars are conducted in many areas of the world.

Research & Development - With full-time R&D staff, MSI is able to stay abreast of developing technologies that might be of important use in the missionary aviation world.  Of particular interest is the Capstone project which has been used to remarkably reduce the accident rate in Alaska.

Accident Investigations - Upon request, experienced accident investigations of accidents.  Follow-up analysis and reports include recommendation s for accident prevention.

Continuing Education - To mission agencies and training schools, periodic visits by MSI teams are intended to reinforce the need for continued awareness of safety and security issues.

Publications -  Newsletters, accident summaries and other educational materials relating to safety and security are published on a periodic basis.
